My husband and I are retired and have lived in Arvada for about five years. I am most appreciative to Randy Moorman, our District 1 Council Member who is easily accessible to all in his district and, most importantly, is open to debate about all issues that affect Arvada citizens, even those some find controversial. I congratulate him for trying to seek common ground on the hard issues most American cities face. I believe Randy will work hard to improve the life of all our citizens and demonstrate to our children that a healthy community supports the wellbeing of all.

— Betty Anne Redson

Last year I reached out to Randy regarding the need for a stop sign at a small intersection at the King Soopers shopping center located on Sheridan Boulevard and 80th Ave. I was almost hit more than once and wondered how many other drivers had had the same experience at this small intersection. Randy said that he would look into this for me and would keep me informed regarding his inquiries to the city. Some time passed, and then while driving through the plaza, much to my surprise, I noticed that a stop sign had been installed! Randy was able to get the job done and because of him, the plaza and drivers driving through are safer.

I have asked him many technical questions and he has always gotten back to me after doing some research to provide in-depth and knowledgeable answers.

— Jon Girand

Randy has worked so hard to make sure that the city does right by our residents here in Davis Lane. The sewer project required the removal of our beloved tennis and pickleball courts. Randy got the city to agree to develop plans to replace at least one court, after the warranty of the sewer line is complete. We are grateful, as these courts and our Davis Lane Park are a central part of our community.

— Terri Parthum

From our time together on the Arvada Sustainability Advisory Committee (prior to his being on City Council), I have seen Randy be a steadfast advocate for our city's well-being on sustainability issues.  As our Council's current representative for District 1, Randy has shown perseverance and caring for his constituents — on sustainability, as well as fighting for more affordable housing and for our city's unhoused residents. Randy follows through, is able to grow and learn as new information becomes available, and is truly a champion for us all!

Randy was very helpful during the 72nd construction project. I really appreciated him connecting me with the appropriate staff at the city of Arvada. After our conversation, we were able to work with the city’s engineer, this allowed us to save a natural spring that provides water to our property.

I was having some difficulty getting the city to respond to my calls about our park, Lakecrest Park. The bushes around the park entrance had died and the park sign was looking worn and needed paint. I spoke to Randy and he got the park staff to come out the next day to start work on making improvements. Within less than a month, the dead bushes were pulled out, a new, nice looking fence was put up to replace the bushes and we got a new park sign. Thank you, Randy for helping to make these important improvements to our park!

I met Randy at our neighborhood barbeque last summer. I walked him over to our beloved pond and showed him how the city's work on the creek and drainage had caused the water level to drop and as a result, much of the waterfowl left. He worked with the city to repair the creek so that the water would fill back up. Our little pond now looks awesome again. We can't wait to see the life that will come back in the spring. Thank you, Randy, for helping us bring our pond back to life.
